I'm creating at the highest level. These guys support and translate my sound live so well because we're a family. They support and believe in what I'm trying to do. Bunch of know-it-all music snobs that humbly work towards moving the culture forward. I love these guys more than words.
Jon Bellion in the documentary
Beautiful Mind is a phrase often associated with Jon Bellion. It is also a collective of close friends formed by Jon Bellion.[1] According to the fans, in college, they made a pact that if any one of them make it in the industry, they'd take the rest with them. Once Bellion got signed, he contacted all of them, and they all quit their jobs to make music with him. The members Bellion, Mark Williams, and Volta, are also known as the GSP trio (the latter two combined as the record production and songwriting duo, Ojivolta.
When asked how many times Bellion says "beautiful mind" in his songs, fans came up with the number ten: "The Right Direction," "D.O.P.E," "My Soul Back," "The Sound of Getting Over You," "Want to Be Loved" (Scattered Thoughts Vol. 1); "While You Count Sheep," "Don't Ask Cuz I Don't Know," "Wutup Snow?" (Translations Through Speakers); "When The Lions Come" (The Separation); "Pre-Occupied" (The Definition).

Documentary

A documentary was posted to YouTube on February 19, 2014, directed by Dexter Findley.[2] It was filmed in New York, and featured Bellion, Bernard Julien, Blaque Keyz, Travis Mendes, Joe Scuccimarri, Mylon Hayde, Andre Lyles, and George Benavides.
In his post, Findley reported, "The process was a challenge for everyone involved, late nights going over the set-list, leaving the rehearsal studio at 2 am to catch the train for their 9-5, even missing the gym and having to work-out while rehearsing (Jon and Travis). A few of the songs were difficult to learn to play live but once they got in the groove there was an organic flow of creative energy. Each band member has a story to tell, in this documentary I tapped into each one. You'll learn their individual stories and discover the immense respect they have for each other as masters of their dedicated crafts. To help film the actual show, I enlisted the assistance of Stan Chan and Cali Prince, meeting them during the rehearsal process. Instaed of starting to shoot, I asked that we first spend time simply watching and studying the band member's interactions. As rehearsal progressed I pointed out details and moments I wanted captured. Taking this extra time to learn the movements and mannerisms of the band turned out to be invaluable while filming the concert. This group of guys are not just band members, they're a family, and I am extremely inspired to work with such talented individuals. Being a part of this project has also made me a better filmmaker. We are Beautiful Mind!"[3]
